I find it hard to concentrate as well. What helps is when people encourage me to focus on the task at hand instead of encouraging me to multi-task. Have you tried this method? I have more ideas if you would like to hear them.

yes my son is finding it hard to concentrate too! He is fine whilst the teacher is working one-to-one with him but as soon as he has to do it himself it all goes to pot. When i am doing homework with him he seems to find the work at a level he can cope with so i don't know what the answer is. He is very energentic and can't keep still.

You have not mentioned "concentrate on what?" Any how there may be some underlying reason for this, which you will find out when you discuss with him.

Flick him on the nose whenever he starts to glaze over...

Give him opportunity to practice in a non-distracting environment. Not sure where they sell those though. What do you think of my new sneakers? and I'm sick and tired of this office and when are we going to have a fine day?

Alot of people will find it hard to concentrate on somthing they have little interest in. I would put money that your son will sit and play video games or eat a macdonalds or some other generic male child orientated type thing without losing concentration. I was never a good classroom learner. The methods teachers use just don't suit my learning style. I can't sit and listen to somebody reel off information. I would mess about all day in school then just read the relevant section of my text book on the bus home or in my spare time. I just could not concentrate in class unless I was really interested in what was being taught. Look up learning styles theres a few "recognised" ones so to speak. they have generalised what makes certain people listen / learn better and given names to certain methods. -Dean
