  • When your motherboard beeps it is communicating something to you. If your computer works properly, ignore this. However, if your computer cant get past the POST and you hear a series of beeps, it is telling you just what is wrong with your system. For example, if you hear 2 short beeps, a long then a short one, your motherboard might be saying that you have a bad stick of memory. These codes change depending on the motherboards and BIOS's. Look in your motherboard manual or manufacturer's website for a list of codes.
