Oh yeah baby, I can see you now. :) http://www.last.fm/music/The+Magic+Numbers/_/I+See+You,+You+See+Me http://www.amazon.com/Sophie-Calle-Did-You-See/dp/3791330357 - - - - [Here is an EXCERPT from the website for you] - - - - Write a journal about I See You, You See Me GLASTONBURY 2007 - day one • Shirley Bassey • Bright Eyes • The Coral • Kasabian • Bloc Party • Arctic Monkeys • The Magic Numbers The Coral – Dreaming of You • Bright Eyes – First Day of My Life • The Coral – Spanish Main • Arctic Monkeys – A Certain Romance • Kasabian – Processed Beats • Arctic Monkeys – When the Sun Goes Down • The Magic Numbers – I See You, You See Me • The Magic Numbers – Mornings Eleven • Bright Eyes – Four Winds • Bright Eyes – Clairaudients (Kill or Be Killed) • Arctic Monkeys – Flourescent Adolescent • Arctic Monkeys – 505 • Arctic Monkeys – Diamonds Are Forever The first band I saw was the much anticipated Bright Eyes, who were excellent. It suprised me how civil the crowd was compared to in perth, people were quite content to just stand and watch from a distance. The stage was minimal, just the black backdrop and instruments, and when the band came on all dressed in white they looked great. Starting with Clairaudients (Kill or Be Killed), not many people seemed to recognise their new album, but went off when Conor did old favourite First Day of My Life, personally I think the album version is much better, as you can hear real emotion in his voice, before he played it at every gig since. The solo violinist was amazing, especially during Four Winds, which has one of my favourite chord changes ever and sounded magnificent coming from a live violin. After Bright Eyes, I hurried over to catch the end of The Magic Numbers set. They had a massive crowd, who knew most of their songs, and had people dancing in no time. Angela's voice was so good, better then the album even, and songs like I See You, You See Me and Mornings Eleven really went off with the crowd. Next was a tough decision between Bloc Party and The Coral. Eventually I thought Bloc Party were more likely to come to Perth, so I saw The Coral, who did not disappoint! They opened with Spanish Main, which people had been chanting since before they came on. Called the second best band out of Liverpool (after The Beatles DER), really lived up to their rep, with a great live show and I got REALLY close, like second row from the front. Everything is better from up close. Naturally Dreaming of You was awesome, I'd had the song in my head all day, so to see it live was brilliant. After a break, in which I got rather drunk, the rest of the evening was a bit of a blur. Next band was Kasabian, who were good, but nothing on their Big Day Out 07 performance. Processed Beats and their closer L.S.F. (Lost Souls Forever) were highlights from what I remember..
