I tried nutmeg once, about 3-4 tablespoons, I think (can't exactly remember, it was a while ago), waited for over six hours and noticed a single difference, which was that some very small objects/shapes would bend ever so slightly for just an instant. The effect may be different for you, but I would advise against trying it because it: A) Can potentially waste a lot of time, and B) tastes HORRIBLE, no matter how much you attempt to mask the taste (usually by combining with water, milk, or something else). Nutmeg takes around 4-6 hours to kick in, and after that, should last I believe at least 8 hours (low dose). Higher doses can last well into the next day (apparently), with noticeable effects lasting for 2-3 days after. If it's a household psycoactive you're looking for, I'd suggest smoking sage (from experience, gives a sort of relaxing, calming feel) or terragon (haven't tried this , but I've read it gives what you may be looking for from nutmeg). Always do your research first, though.
