  • I was almost killed by a drunk driver.
  • I crashed a golf cart into a creek coming down a hill.
  • My gas pedal linkage line to the carburetor got stuck on the engine block and the car started doing 80, 90, and 100 mph on the highway with my foot off the gas pedal. I put my foot on the brakes and they started to burn up with that stinky rubber burning smell. I almost took out the car in front of me before I finally realized that I had to turn off the key and pull off the road where there weren't any trees so that the car would come to rest as the brakes were gone. This was so harrowing but luckily I thought of turning the engine off. The guy that did a tune up on my car a few days earlier forgot to tighten that linkage line and that caused the gas pedal to stick.
  • Somebody pulling out right in front of me and I almost hit him (it was an old man).
  • I had to pee in a coke bottle and not get any on my hands. Nerve racking
  • I was in a car on my way to an appointment back when I was living in Southern California and the road right in front of me just started to go up and down like a roller coaster. It was a small earthquake and the first I had ever experienced so it was kind of scary to see
  • Whipping up the twisties on Hwy 50 from Sacramento to Auburn on my motorcycle at about midnight I learned that there was... ... NO ROAD! That was the road I took to work every day. I had ridden down it that afternoon to go to work, done my shift, and was riding home. They had been doing construction and, obviously, tore up the road leaving gravel and dirt in its place. They did not put any road hazard signs out! It was "HOLY F*CK!!" and gently tapping the brakes as I downshifted (if I had grabbed those brakes I would have been history), knowing I was going over the cliff. It was not a steep cliff but it would have killed me had I gone sailing over it at some 50 mph. Yes, I did tend to speed on that road. I came to a screeching halt about 2-3 feet from said cliff, sideways. I got off of the bike, somehow managed to make it to a tree, slid down the tree, and shook for a long time before I was able to get back on that bike and ride home.
  • hit a bridge at 50 mph
