I wrote asking to expunge a misdameanor charge from a county court and was told that the court expunged very few charges as a rule. This charge has also been reported as a felony on a previous background check. don't they have to expunge misdemeanor's?

So far as I know, courts are never required to expunge anything, but it is usually customary for the courts to expunge all records of minors, when they reach the age of majority.

One can petition any court to have certain records expunged, and depending on your history since the tragressions of the past, who you are and who you KNOW, your history might be expunged.

Court judges like to make sure that there are very few rules that they have to follow.
