Experienced answers only please. I just got my XBOX360 back from repairs(3 red lights). Now it is very noisy. Is this normal?

I wouldn't say it's normal, but something that you may have to tolerate. I had a similar problem with my PS2 after several years of constant use. I had to send mine in for repair. When I got it back the DVD driver would whine. It functioned OK, but the noise was annoying. I called Sony and found out that I had been sent back a refurbished one. Because the original warranty had expired.

just got mine back, too, (for the same reason), and the exhaust fan seems MUCH louder. I thought it was just me. I've checked for months now, and I'm told that some have had to return theirs 3 or 4 times. I hope that's not my case.

yes. i had the same problem. the 3 red lights usually come from a failed microchip ( that was my case) because of overheating. my fan runs like crazy now but my box never gets hot at all! yours shouldnt have any other problems so no need to worry! it just stays cooler...and as for the noise, turn up the volume!! haha

Yep me too, Got 3 red lights. Got it back, seemed noticably louder.

mine used to sound like a jet taking off of my big screen now it is quiet since i got it repaired of my first RROD. now it is off getting fixed that repair lasted a month. getting new falcon chipset this time and benq drive

yes it is because you normally didn't hear the fan because it wasn't working no that you hear it your like wtf?!?!?!?! but yes it's normal for it to sound like that when i sent mine back tehy just sent me a new one thast why i can't download "m" content now

No it's not "normal" for it to be heard if your walking by the room with it on. It should have a low hum. I have had my 360 replaced 3 times so I am "experienced". One suggestion would be to try and move it onto a different surface. If that doesn't work then I would call 1-800-4MY-XBOX.

With a disc running or not? The 360 will be louder when running a disc as it's constantly reading the disc whilst if your playing a live arcade game then it should be quieter as it's reading off the HD.

no it is not normal its called the red ring of death i know its not a full ring but it will become one soon its not suppose to sound noisy. i had the same problem as you i went to get it fixed and its perfect no noise or anything. ps. dont have your x box standing up it messes up the disk and the x box

Got mine back a couple of months ago and its a little louder. I thought it was the fan that was a little louder but im not sure if it is.

Ya that's good it's very noisy. That's the advanced cooler system to prevent the Red Rings.

i have had my xbox repairedrecently and i have a very noisy room since. the mechanics said that it was because they replaced the faulty part with a preventer and is therefore more noisy
