ANSWERS: 7
  • depends, if the question was posted a long time before then i can see where they didn't give points to the new answers. If its a new question with 7 answers and no points then either its a new user who doesn't know the rules (like me at first) or I just question why the heck that person expects answers.
  • You gotta swing it how you swing it. If an answer deserves points, then it does.
  • Yes, If someone is going to ask a question I think they should come back to it and acknowledge the ones who take the time to answer. I do know some who will ask and never go back to the question. Seems to me they would want to see the answers to what they asked!
  • Sometimes i do wonder, i have seen about 3 questions with 70-100 answers and maximum 5 will have points, i think if you are going to ask a question the least you can do is rate the people who take time to answer and help you out, it just seems rude not to!
  • I don't wonder..there are people on here who never give out points or who dole them out 1 or 2 at a time..like they are giving out a precious commodity or something??? who knows?
  • I do. I recently became aware of a long time user that never gives points. I would tend to think that's OK, except for the fact that this same user seems to answer questions of users who 'always' give points! So, is this user a hypocrite? Seems to be, to me! The attitude seems to be, "I'll ask questions so you'll give me points, but I will 'never' give you points for answering." AND, "When I want points, I'll seek out those people who always give points, answer an obscene amount of 'their' questions so that I can 'get' points, but I will NEVER give them points for those questions that I answer for which I expect to get points". That is just wrong on so many different levels. I have no respect for those users. Other times, of course, questions may be old and no longer monitored by the asker. Sometimes people forget, also. Sometimes the users are new and don't know the ropes. There are many scenarios. Sine this site is based on a point system now, though, I really don't understand someone who doesn't give points when I've taken the time to give a very thoughtful answer that actually consists of more than a single word or sentence. But, to each his own. I will tell you, though, that I will not answer questions or give points for answers for the type of user that I have mentioned. Call me petty, if you like. I can live with that.
  • A little. But it makes me also wonder why people are not rating other people's answers to the questions which they did not ask!
