It's very possible to become pregnant on the 22nd day of the menstrual cycle, if that's when ovulation occurs. Although we are often told that ovulation generally occurs on day 14 of a 28 day cycle, in actuality there is a wide variation in when it occurs. One study showed that only 30% of women ovulate between days 10-17, with many ovulating sooner, and others much later. This study also revealed that there is a wide variation in ovulation even for women who have regular cycles. To avoid pregnancy, contraception needs to be used every time intercourse occurs. For someone having difficulty becoming pregnant, there are kits available at most pharmacies that will help determine when ovulation is actually occuring. There are also ovulation calendars available on the net, but don't rely on one that only uses menstrual dates. To be most accurate, an ovulation calendar needs to chart basal temperature and some of the other physiological changes that occur during the menstrual cycle.

If you chart your cycle using natural family planning (check out www.ccli.org or www.fertilityfriend.com for more information) you can pinpoint your ovulation to the day, as was mentioned. The signs including BBT (which only is useful after you have ovulated) are cervical position and cervical mucous which both change as your cycle proceeds due to hormonal changes. I have been teaching this method for 3 years and using it for 7. I conceived our first on day 26 of my cycle and our second on day 30 of my cycle using the sympto-thermal method of Natural Family Planning/Fertility Awareness. See the first question in this category for more in depth information. Late ovulation or irregular ovulation is not a deterrent to becoming pregnant.

No shit you can become pregnant!!! I know how this person feels.. I had somewhat of the same question and all i got was people telling me yes!! We all know that you can get pregnant at any time if you don't use protection but your answers would serve a better purpose if you helped people out by telling them how likley they are or share with them some experiences that you have had instead of just stating that you can.. most of us on hear no better then to ask a stupid question so instead of asuming that it's a dumb question give us the benifit of the doubt and give a good answer
