Unless you have a fetish (people do have them for that) its not bad if you are horny enough to do it. Sometimes a period can make a girl unfresh down there. For me personally thats where I draw the line. But if its clean aside from blood, who cares you never know when you will get it again.

If there are no issues just do it. Put a towel or one of those bed wetting mats underneath just in case. You can also use a condom if you feel that you don't want to have that on yourself. In most cases intercourse during a period has helped with some of the symptoms like cramps and pain for women. Everybody is different and some women are actually very horny during this time.
