Do you ever look at the similar questions listed alongside your question on the main page?

I sure do it is very important what other similar questions people are considering at that time that you are asking your question.

Yes I always check to try to make sure I am not posting a duplicate. Sometimes it can be difficult because people word things slightly differently. I think I read that wrong , You do seem to get one question which leads to a lot of similar questions on like subjects in a very short period of time.

I put my proposed question in the box at the top of the page, hit "Search for Answers" and usually scan through at least four or five pages to make sure I'm not posting a duplicate question. I don't like when my questions are rejected and just checking the similar questions list isn't enough to guard against that.

I always look first before posting questions now. I had 2-3 questions deleted because they were dupes because I didn't look first!

Yes I do, and I've had to delete my question many times. It's hard to ask a question that hasn't been asked in any way before.

I learned real quick to look, but at times we get excited about something and forget to. At least it helps out the person that initially asked the question by bringing it back up front for more hits.

I always look to see what sounds like the question I'm asking. Only problem is the list of three questions aren't enough and sometimes a question like mine don't show up until after I have asked it!

Yes, often someone has beat me to it and I find the answer I needed. Handy feature.

I always have a look before I post any questions but some moderators seem to think that because one word in the sentence is the same they they flag it as a duplicate question... so sometimes you can't win

I always check. I don't want to post something that's already been asked. As many questions as have been posted on AB, it's pretty likely someone has had a similar question to yours already! I'm not one to try and steal points...if there is already a question similar to what I'm trying to ask, I look at the answers to that question to find what I'm looking for :)
