American Airlines a pilot makes about 65 to 185 thousand a year, depending on how many years and type of aircraft flown. This applies to most airlines seeming that most pilots are union.

If you're lucky enough to land a job right after you're done with training or fresh out of college you are going to make a lot less than you expect. Flight Instructors: 18K to 30K a year depending on who you work for and how many hours a week you put in. First year Airline Pilots: 18K to 23K a year with about a $3000/year increase until you upgrade to a more complex aircraft or you upgrade to Captain. These are figures for starting pilots. Once you pay your dues and assuming you don't get laid off (which is the trend these days) Pilots can make a healthy living. But if you're expecting to get rich being a pilot, you might want to think twice.

NO0000000000 jobssssssssss, don't even try, four year degree in aviation, 2 years instructing, 2 years flying rj's, on furlough, and not one job out there, flying is in my blood but the unions, companies, so called wanna be pilots, and ceo's have f@#%ed up the industry. I would love to make $20,000 if I could get a damn job, but there are none, but there are still idiots out there willing to finance $60,000 for zero to hero programs because they have failed at everything else in life.I miss my RJ, it was great while it lasted. Nothing else in life could compare to being up there.
