Yes, everything exerts pressure... You can imagine continuous "layers" of air, and these layers of air exert their pressure on everything they are in contact with...... Their gravity also pulls them downwards, which exerts a form of pressure as well. Anything in contact with the air has the pressure exerted on (pressure is just a kinetic energy thing)
