Yes, you can. To set up an auto-login, all you have to do is not create a password and also only have one username. XP will load that account by default.

Some of the coders at Microsoft put together some powertoys that you can download at Microsoft's website. Microsoft doesn't fully support them, but they still make them available. One of them is TweakUI, which includes a various set of options to tweak Windows - and specifically in this case, an auto-logon feature for whatever user account you specify.
