    Wu means "black" or "darkness," can be a reference to evil. I've never heard of it as a given name but I wouldn't be surprised if it was a surname.

    Since Chinese is tonal, we would need to know the tone to narrow down which Woo (also which dialect). Here is my guess though: Probably "wù" (武), but written for Cantonese would be "woo". This would mean this person's last name is "military" ("Nice to meet you Mr. Military!"). I can't think of any other last names that can be construed as "woo".
