I've read in various places that Miyavi's true, given name at birth is Ishihara Takamasa (last name Ishihara, first name Takamasa). The kanji for "miyabi" is also the kanji for "masa", so it seems plausible. I'd like to include this in the article, but I'm not sure about the sources...it's mostly been (widespread) fan speculation--forums and such. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Namiie (talk • contribs) 20:19, 29 April 2007 (UTC). The French Wikipedia states that as his real name, but I'd say unless there is a source that's really dependable that says so, we should leave it out... Then again, the Hyde article states what his name is rumored to be in the trivia section, so maybe we could do something like that. Ismene 20:38, 1 May 2007 (UTC) It smacks of original research to me. And the mention on Hyde's page should be removed too. Consistency with the rules is nice. Nique talk 01:42, 2 May 2007 (UTC) No mention of a first name so far, but Miyavi has said that his last name is Ishihara (he mentioned it in the December 2005 issue of Arena37°C magazine). I can't seem to locate the article online--would a scan suffice? —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Namiie (talk • contribs) 06:54, 3 May 2007 (UTC). He mentions his last name in an old issue of FOOL'S MATE some years ago as well. He used it when remarking about how when he came to America just for a visit, no one really knew who he was so he wasn't "Miyavi" so much as he was a regular person. (If I remember correctly, his exact words were "Tada no Ishihara kun"). I can't remember the exact issue number, but it was the issue that sported the Freedom Fighters photo shoot pictures. Any more info you are looking for can be found on Wikipedia. Hope this helps, good luck.

His real name is Ishihara Takamasa. Miyavi, or Miyabi, are just stage names.
