$50,000/year Median Income in the US! That's a lot more than most and unbelievably more than those with Minimum Wage jobs. How calculated?

Do they have to lift the cans? And what is the average pay is it salary or other?
by HappyGoLucky on January 25th, 2008
They do have to lift the cans; throw the contents into the back of a truck, have a tolerance for really bad smells... The salary depends on where you live, but it sounds like it ranges from about 24,000 to 57,000 (the high end is in NY where the cost of living is high and, I suspect, the job is especially grueling).

You can wear googles and a mask right and gloves? Can they become exposed to things that can harm them if touched or inhaled and is it a safe or dangerous job in toxic etc. Handeling trash?
by HappyGoLucky on January 26th, 2008
Dear HappyGoLucky,
Everything I have told you, I have looked up on th Web. In fact, you might explore the links I gave you. They may have more information. I have gone as far as I can go with this question. It is your turn to do some research.
I highly recommend your local library. Most adult or young adult reference collections have good sets of career outlook and development books. The reference librarians are trained and (at least in my library) eager to help you find information. You could also visit your local trash collector's office and ask them your questions. (btw, the word is goggles, not googles.) Good luck in your pursuit. -Z
