I think that it would just be another piece of evidence that would support the biblical account. It wouldn't prove anything other than that it is a really old boat on a mountain. After all, there have already been a lot of finds, but they didn't convince a good many people of the Bible's valadity, did they?

I don't think it would have much impact other than to support the idea that there was some sort of middle eastern flood and that the legends of many, many peoples were probably based on some sort of actual event.

I don't know what the age would be and that, in fact, would be working backwards. If a ship, the size of the Titanic (the Titanic was built to Noah's ark's dimensions) was found on Mt Ararat, as was said in the Bible, then it would have to be THE ARk, because how many other ships the size of the Titanic have come to rest on top of a 5000 M (16 000 ft) high mountain in Turkey? If it were found, it would indeed, validate the Biblical story beyond doubt, as, for water to have deposited it there would negate the possibility of the Flood being some distant memory of a localised deluge....if the water rose over 5 000 metres, then it was no localised deluge! Its discovery would certainly bring belief in Biblical accuracy to a lot more people, and be a strong indication that the rest of the Bible is, indeed, accurate, but a lot of other discoveries have done the same to smaller details of Scripture. eg in the 19th century, sceptics mocked the Bible's mention of Hittites dealing with Abraham, because no such people had been discovered, then they were and people ate crow, when they realised just how extensive the Hittite empire was, and that some Hittite tribes were, indeed, down as far as Canaan. The existence of Pontius Pilate was laughed at, as no records of him existed until a tablet was found with his name on it (no doubts as to authenticity). The textual accuracy of the Bible was doubted until the discovery of the Masada scrolls and the Dead Sea Scrolls, which took manuscript evidence back 1000-1200 years and showed how faithful textual transmission had been. There is so much that is accurate historically in the Bible that the discovery of Noah's Ark would be just one more thing to add to the list.

It would not prove the story of Noah's Ark. We would need to see some kind of evidence that EVERY animal in the world was able to live on the boat for 40 days with no sunshine, no food (think about the ratifications if one of the snakes were to eat one of the mice/rats/chickens ect) and no fighting. We would also need to prove that it rained non stop for 40 days/nights and that the world flooded, where did all that extra water go? It did not just simply disappear! Einstein's theory of relativity could be an explanation for this but then we would need to see some evidence as to how this huge amount of energy (it would be the approx equivalent of about one million times ALL the nuclear bombs that have EVER existed on this earth) was released. There are other problems with the story too (I am sure) but these are the main two I can think off. It would be a huge step towards proving the story, but just a boat on its own would not constitute proof. Even if it was proved without any doubt at all then it still would not prove the bible.

So finding the ark in the turkish mt.s measuring to the dimensions of that of the scriptures cannot be a beginning of proof.

I have thought of this and what an impact it could mean to the world and science and archaeology......... I would love to see this happen and often wonder if God is gonna allow it... I think the impact would be proof enough to put the large majority of assumption and speculation and science in a mode of "utter silence"... but I have read a novel where many fought to keep this discovery from the world...which was satan's doings of course, but Satan can't stop God if HE chooses to reveal this mystery to us..... but , alas , God has to prove nothing to no one and "more blessed are those who believe without seeing" as Jesus told the Apostles...

It would support the bible stories. Long way to go prove accuracy

Actually, you don't need Noah's Ark to prove the Bible is accurate. I can prove to you beyond a shadow of a doubt, that the Bible is the inspired Word of God, who exists in eternity. Give me five minutes, and I will give you the proof you need to decide whether or not it's true. Before the five minute clock starts, get yourself a Bible that includes the Old Testament. If I were showing you personally, I'd know where the books are in the Scripture, but since I'm not, and since you may not be familiar with their location, I'd ask you to first locate and mark Psalms, Isaiah and Micah. If you can't find a Bible, you can go online (Biblegateway.com is a good site) and type in the Scripture reference, and you should also be able to find the text. Okay? Ready, set, start the clock....Read Psalms 22:16-18. David, who wrote that Psalm lived 1000 years before Jesus was born. Now turn to Isaiah and read chapter 7 verse 14. Also read Isaiah, chapter 9:6-7. Now read the entire chapter 53. Isaiah lived 700 years before Jesus was born. Now turn to Micah and read chapter 5 verse 2. Micah was a contemporary of Isaiah, so he lived 700 years before Jesus was born. Now that you've read those Scriptures, you can spend the rest of the day wondering if this is the greatest hoax of all time, or whether it is actually true. I know that's what you're going to do, because that's exactly what I did when I read those Scriptures. Every book in the Old Testament contains prophecies just like that, written by different authors at different times in history. Even if they had lived in the same time period, their paths would never have crossed, because some were very important wealthy individuals, while others were poor and unimportant individuals.
