Have the SAME exact problem with my 91 Corsica. It started off when I'd drive it on the highway for a while, then park it overnight. I'd crank it up in the morning and it would idle at an insane RPM, only after driving around for awhile (wearing down the brakes) would the car occasionally get to a light, and start calming down, idling normally. A recent bout of cold weather had the car running perfectly, and then 2 days of 60 degrees and it decided to act up again, not only idling high, but the opposite, and stalling when I came to a light. Not only that, you could start the car after it stalled, it would idle super high and then when you put it in gear it would crap out again. I hate this car. It's seen 3 mechanics who cant figure it out. The only advice I've been able to get, $800 worth of repairs later is that it's probably a vacuum hose that's loose, or the CPU. Bought a mustang out of necessity, if I can still find out what the hell is wrong with this car I'll fix it and sell it for a couple hundred bucks, but no luck as of yet. Any ideas?
