  • These type of degrees really carry no merit. Its not like attending and graduating from a real college or university. On line degrees do not give you the "hands on" experience, received in a real college. Anyone can graduate from an on-line college. it takes a dedicated person to finish four to eight years of college at a live institution.
  • I'm really not sure, but personally don't see an online education in this area to be as useful as one that involves some hands-on training. Online nursing degrees baffle me, for example. I would ask some veterinarians in your area if they would or have hired anyone with this type of degree. Even if the degree is 'valid', it is not the same training you would get in a community college. Best of luck!
  • I think they are credible, if you take courses from accredited universities and colleges. http://www.worldwidelearn.com/science-degree/veterinary-science-degree.htm
  • I would be very suspicious of any vet or assistant with an online degree. How would that work, exactly? While there are some courses that you can very well take online it seems to me this is not one of them. If you're supposed to physically and directly examine any animal, you can't substitute the real thing.
  • Online degrees can be credible, but as stated above do not provide the hands on experience to really understand the job. But, sadly there are those that cannot take that time due to jobs, family etc. If you really want a degree and cannot aford the time, then go for it! In the end it's only a piece of paper, right?
