i am a palmist. Biting your nails is a sign of inner emotional turmoil. There has to be an exterior or interior change that has promted this activity. The fingers in which you bite have a direct connection to the area of you life that is causing strain. Pinky is always money matters. Ring is relationships. Middle is expression and the pointer is your anger finger. The thumb will be a direct link to your self-image and projection. The hand that you focus the most on or bite the most will let you into the history or direct thought that causes this action. Your dominant hand is the present and the non-dominant hand is the past. So, as time goes by and you fail to conquer the issue the focus can swith from one hand to the other. But, the way to resolve this nasty action is to confront the cause of your anxiety and try to pinpoint where its coming from by realizing where the thoughts arise from. My advice is when you sub-consciously move your hand to your mouth stop and look at what your doing so you can anylize the situation and find some resolve.

You can buy paint on stuff from the pharmacist, in the UK it is called "stop and grow" but may be different in the US, it tastes foul but is harmless, it trains you away from biting, but also try (if possible) to change the reason you started biting them in the first place :o)
