Okay I will answer I am NOT Afraid. I love to dress my dogs up. They are so darn cute. People can call me crazy all they want but it works too.... in the cold nights my toy poodle and chi stay extra warm with their little sweaters on. Plus they get extra socialization. Everybody wants to pet your dog when they are all dressed up!

Honestly, I think it's kinda dumb. Especially when people spend insane amounts of money on it. I really don't see how it's so cute, but to each his own I suppose.

I don't dress my dogs... I do put winter coats on them, but only because it gets 10-15 degrees below 0 out here at times... Now, there are some mutts that no amount of dolling up would make them any cuter, and some mutts that look darling in clothes. But the main thing for me is that if the dog don't like it, don't do it. Oh, and I used to have a neighbor in Kyoto who's dog had her own drawer in the dresser, and slept in her own little princess bed. Every morning the dog would get up and open her drawer, and pick out an outfit and deposit it on my friend's pillow. And the dog expected to be pushed around in a doll's carriage, too.

my dog has a sweater when its gets below 20 degrees, hes a jack chi. But hes never worn it, too much of a wuss to go outside in that weather, hell just use puppy pads. He does have a personalized blanket my mother sent him though when he turned 4.

We have a few shirts, sweaters and jackets for one of our dogs. But it's not for cute. He is a full grown 3 pound Chihuahua. He gets cold any time it gets below 65 degrees. The other two dogs would never think of wearing cloths and we would never buy them. It is difficult to spend 30 bucks on a sweater but it is not a want, but a need (see photos)

i would never dress my dog up in coats i think it looks silly i think the patten on a dogs natural coat is lovely and makes the dog who he/she is! i have dressed my dog up in silly things like hats and glasses or santas hat but only 4 a laff 4 photos! wouldnt dream of going out to by a jacket or t shirt 4 my dog!

My dog LOVES to be dressed up. He knows when I get his coat out that it is time to go for a ride, etc. I only do it because it is so darn cute and gets great amounts of attention!! But as far as having his own closet full of clothing...that is a bit extreme!!

This sounds strange but my beagle-pointer mix, Bailey who'll be 15 in April, will not wear dog sweaters (she just scratches them to bits) but when my little sister and I used to dress her for fun in human clothes (hats, sunglasses, t-shirts, socks on all 4 paws, etc) she would love it! Maybe she just like the attention because we would all fuss over her and take her picture. Or maybe she liked the smell of the human clothes. At any rate, we have some hiralious pictures of her. But as for those people that dress up their dogs and see them as furry humans, that is more than a little disturbing. Think about that crazy lady on Dr. Phil a few weeks back...

I only put a sweater on my dog when it is cold out. He hates to wear clothes of any type. He takes the off all the time. Lucky it was cold when I took the picture of him that I now use as my avator.

I put clothing on my dogs becuase they are Toy Fox Terriers and don't have a very thick coat. I don't dress them up in ridiculous clothing though. My dog Jack has a shirt that says "Stud Muffin" and one that says "touchdown" and Foxxy has one that says "heartbreaker" He also has a sheepwool coat for when he goes out on the town during winter. (I live in Canada and it gets to -32 degrees sometimes.) They wear it everyday pretty much. People who do dress there dogs up aren't ridiculous unless they spend $200 dollars on a minituare jacket or a hat. People who don't dress up their dogs aren't ridiculous and probably have a reason why they don't dress them up.(thick coat, big and blubbery etc.)

CRAZY DOG LADY FROM DR PHIL A FEW WEEKS BACK HERE.... PERHAPS I AM NOT THE BEST ONE TO ANSWER THIS QUESTION. HOWEVER IF THE ANIMAL DOESN'T MIND WEARING CLOTHES, IT DOES NO MORE HARM THAN WHEN A PARENT DRESSES THEIR CHILD IN A FRILLY DRESS OR A LITTLE SUIT. FOR PEOPLE IN COLD CLIMATES, COATS, SWEATERS, AND THOSE LITTLE BOOTS PROTECT THEM FROM THE ELEMENTS. SOME (LIKE MINE) LIKE THE ATTENTION. I WAS GOING TO POST A FEW PHOTOS OF HIM IN HIS OUTFITS...BUT THEN I REMEMBERED..YOU'VE SEEN THEM ALREADY!!!

No,I don't.Mine is decidedly not trendy.Although I don't mind if people want to dress their own dog up.

I dress my dog up. We have a small maltese named fluffy. And he is always cold. Plus, he loves the shirts he has his own drawer at the bottom of my dresser with all of his clothes. No, he dosent pick them out but i do depending on the wearther but he loves them. He will actually go to the drawer and bark until i put one on him . So i dont see anything wrong with putting clothes on dogs as long as they like it.
