  • Maybe check the soil around the base of the plant and see whether the plant is rootbound (roots filled to overflowing the pot if it's in one, or really bunched up), or if the soil is saturated with moisture (if so, if it's potted you should repot it with dry soil and ensure it has adequate drainage; if it's planted in the ground, you might dig it up, break up the roots somewhat, line the hole with rocks to aid drainage, then replant with dry soil).
