For the bald and balding: How long did it take before you overcame being self-conscious?

My husband has a full head of hair normally (so does his dad) and it took me a few years to get him to shave his head. He finally did it the day we were leaving to go camping so he'd have a week to grow some back and nobody would see him. He loved it right away, but was very self-conscious on the day he had to go back to work (he kept it shaved). Until he found that everywhere he went, he got a lot of attention from the ladies! lol So, I'd tell any man who is getting thin on top or whatever, just let it go and shave it off...you might be surprised at the confidence BOOST it can give you! (Most guys, I think, though, if they go bald, need a little goatee or something)

It sucks so I haven't gotten over it yet. To any lady who claims its sexy ...ask 'em what they would do if their own began to fall out. Try getting a date when you're balding at age 20.
