Of the two, I'd recommend California, since you've already done Florida via Orlando. For other options, it really depends on what you like to see. If you're an outdoorsy-type, there are plenty of places, but it would depend on the time of year as to the type of activities you prefer...for example, ice fishing can be very relaxing, but is not a good US attraction after the US winter months. So I'd have to ask the return question of, for your other options, what do you enjoy doing?

umm, to be honest I can enjoy both. On second thought I would prefer

Umm, to be honest I can enjoy both. On second thought since I am traveling to US for 1st time the would prefer going to Vineyards and having a different experience altogether - so maybe Napa valley... However how about Keys biscayne, Everglades ? I mean would you recommend one to spend one wk in Orlando or 3-4 days in Orlando and rest to see Miami, keys etc ? Its just two of us - me and my better half.

Well, California - particularly the Monterey/Big Sure area - is gorgeous. But it's 3,000 miles from Florida. Miami is really just a giant, crowded city. I don't find much charm in it. The Keys, Islamorada down onto Key West, are great. Very laid back with colofrul people and gorgeous water. No real beaches, though, and many people don't know what. But if you're into snorkeling, pirate history or bar hopping, it's a great area. We do Key West on scooters every chance we get. Since you're visiting perhaps the two most artificial and busy towns in America, you may want to break it up with a quieter destination. The Florida Panhandle has some of the prettiest beaches in the state, if not the country, and is a good tourist destination. If you want a taste of Cowboy America, you could spend some time in the Southwest; Arizona, New Mexico, Colorado, etc. All beautiful and rich in Native American culture. If you'd like any tips on your Orlando visit (hotels, dining, attractions, tips), I live ten minutes from Disney. I'd be happy to offer what I know. Good luck and enjoy your trip.

That's apples and oranges basically unless you include the Florida Keys in with Miami and then you could do a full week before Vegas. Otherwise, I'd pick a few days in Northern Calif.--SF and Monterey area and then a few days in LA-Hollywood before going to Vegas.

I'd chose California. It's a big state and you wouldn't be able to cover the entire state. I've lived in California my entire life and these are my favorite places to visit: 1. Yosemite National Park. It's huge granite mountains are breathtaking. This park is about 3-4 hours east of San Francisco. If you go, spend at least one night in the park and make reservations well in advance. There are a variety of accommodations ranging from tent cabins to a luxury hotel. http://www.nps.gov/yose/ 2. Napa Valley. Famous for its world class wines and fine dining establishments. It is a beautiful place with unique wineries to visit and sample wine. http://www.cheers2wine.com. 3. Disneyland. Known as the "happiest place on earth". Disneyland is lots of fun. Located in Anaheim, California which is south of Los Angeles. http://disneyland.disney.go.com/disneyland/en_US/home/home?name=HomePage&bhcp=1 4. San Diego. Located about 2 hours south of Los Angeles. San Diego is a beautiful coastal city with lots of fun things to do. San Diego has a mild year round climate, 70 miles of coastline, and many outdoor activities, museums, a famous zoo, Sea World, Legoland, and the Wild Animal Park. http://www.sandiego-romantics.com Whatever you decide, have a great trip!
