At the bottom of every page on Answerbag is the word "Sitemap". If you click on it, you will see a whole list of categories. When you click on anyone of those categories, another list appears showing all the sub-categories. Click on a sub-category and all the categories under it appears, until you come to the last site. The categories layed out in this manner form a kind of outline, only in the form of links. Every question posted in any given category is linked. As a result, you have a method of seeing all the messages and answers on AB. I have found it to be quite useful in learning what categories are available. Also, I have found that some of the categories listed here no longer exist, or if they do exist, they simply are not included in the mainpage category list, possibly due to Admin having not gotten around to updating them.

I don't think this is really necessary because we usually don't even use that page when we write a question. What we do have at our disposal is the what you call 'outline' form that is under the question on the second page after you ask a question. You can try and click on those categories and see which ones have a ">>" showing there are subcategories. If one doesn't work out, try another one. IT's very quick and works rather well. Plus if you would type some key words into the Search box before you ask a question you can see if there are categories which go with those words. Either of those methods is easier and quicker to use to place your question in a good category. And the more you are here, the more you will get to knwo the categories.

Do you realize how large that page would be? At this time, there are over 10,000 categories on AB. (Yes, I know this is an older question, but newbies need to see this answer for why! LOL)
