Which this is that?

What if our life on this earth is just a brief moment in a much greater existence. What if there are other dimensions of existence that we live in before and after we come to this world? If true, then our life on earth has a certain reality to it, but it pales when compared with our broader existence.

as this is the only reality we know-it doesnt matter if its real or not-still have to live it--cool question-have some points--smile and enjoy the day

Yes this is real. Yehhhhhh........

Maybe. I like to say there's two aspects to "reality": there's "here it is", and "what is it?". "Here it is" means "reality is immediately present, it's just this here-and-now presence. We experience it directly and without mediation, there's no question about it's realness". This is the "absolute" aspect of reality. "What is it?" means we really can't get a handle on what is real, because we try to conceptualize it: divide it up into categories, draw boundaries around things, create abstractions and try to believe them, etc. While these systems of ideas are often useful, they don't offer the kind of certainty that comes from direct experience. This is the "relative" aspect of reality, in which we relate things to each other for the purposes of conceptual understanding. This distinction between absolute and relative is crucial to understanding reality: we can have certainty if we don't grasp at it with ideas. Our ideas about it can be useful, but never absolutely true.
