Watch out for Oakland. High murder and crime rate.

Make an internet girlfriend there & go for a visit or get you a job & save the money. Start budgeting & live on as little as you can get by with & maybe do odd jobs on the side, pick up cans & cash them in. There are lots of ways to achieve this goal, good luck then take a bus trip with round trip tickets or fly sometimes you can find really good deals on round trip tickets. BTW, how old are you?

not sure what you mean by cheap idea. you mean travel, places to stay, specific cities? lets address the latter. i assume you want bay area because your hyphy. in wich case my best advice would be, anywhere because that shit is everywhere in the yay area. as for nice bayarea cities that are cheap, they dont exist.

There are some good deals near Union Square which is somewhat the center of tourist accomodations in SF. I'd go on expedia.com and see which hotels in combination with airfare are the least expensive. Then, I'd likely book the airfare and hotel seperately unless you get a package deal you find acceptable.

Hmmmm.... Cheap ...Bay area. HAHAHAHAHA You can find discounted motels on many internet sites. I would suggest many near the Oakland Airport, or the SF airport. I have stayed in the Best Western, San Mateo, Vagabond, Burlingame, and many others, with discounts. I rarely pay more than $85.00. I am a member of AAA, they have many discounted places to stay.

You can get a private room in a youth hostel for about $50/night. Residential hotels cost about as much per night or about $200-300 per week. (Ugh, I can't believe I know that.) Residential hotels are nasty, though, all full of junkies and cockroaches. I'd fork out the cash if you can afford it and get a cheap motel. As for where to stay, you'd better stay in SF. The bay area is huge, it's mostly suburbs, and any money you save on lodgings outside of the city, you'll just end up spending on BART taking daily trips in. When you come here, stay in the Marina (lots of motels on Lombard, right by the famous windy part), North Beach, or SOMA. The Tenderloin is better than it used to be but it's still scuzzy enough that I call it the Crack Convention, so I'd stay out of there.

1. Look for airfare specials on Southwest airlines and specials into Oakland. 2. Take BART (Bay Area Rapid Transit) under the bay to San Francisco. 3. Stay in a youth hostel or a motel south of downtown and the Pier area 4. Eat at the local restaurants away from the tourist areas.

Try the Travelodge on Columbus Ave. That's near Fisherman's Wharf. It is a good area. This motel is usually a good deal less than surrounding hotels/motels and is conveniently located.
