I try not to, but I cant touch them so it's hard. If I could get them outside without killing them i would, but thats not always possible.

No, spiders actually reduce the number of other bugs in your home, if you actually have them. If you have spiders you can almost be assured they have a food source, otherwise they would die or move on to greener pastures.

Then only if my husband isn't home...he is the resident spider killer. I only kill them myself because I don't want to be surprised by them later.

I don't kill anything that I see unless it is a direct and imminent threat to my own life (which has yet to happen), or it was an honest accident on my part.

Every few weeks a spider decides to sit in the top corner of my room for a day or two, I just leave it alone... It's not doing anything to me, so why should I kill it? : /

Same goes for ants, flies, wasps, mosquitoes, etc... I cringe every time my parents spray them or squash them *sigh* don't see why there is such a desperate need to go about killing everything all the time : /

As a matter of principle, we do not kill any other living being wantonly unless they are harmful to us. We just drive the spiders out of the house and destroy their web.

I destroy all insects unless they aren't in my house and that's not always true either becasue sometimes it can be
quite fun squashing an 'it' because they really don't count.
I always destroy every spider in my house.
When will they ever learn if we keep going soft on them.
Pardon the bad pun there, LOL.

It's bad luck to kill a spider, BTW...the spider you killed maybe the one that would have killed the mosquito with lyme desease or ENE(?).

If it's wintertime I think they'll die outside anyway, so I'll kill them. In the summer I try to catch them and put them outside. But I have a baby in the house now so I'm more freaked out by having them in the house. But when I kill them I always apologize, isn't that weird?

weatherman taking week or so off

In the winter, I kill them. There are no insects in my house in the winter as I "Bomb" (Indoor Fogger) the whole house after my houseplants have been brought in from outside and after the first killing frost. If there are no insects for a spider to eat, it will bite you if it can (overnight, for instance). Spider bites are nasty and can get infected and/or make you sick.

In the the other three seasons, I may kill them, leave them, or capture them and put them outdoors.

I usually just ignore it. If it's a huge one (where I live, a spider is huge if it's more than about 2cm from the end of one leg to the other), I usually throw it out the window. Wouldn't kill them just because they're in my house ^^

Only if it's a black widow. I've been bitten by a BW before and it wasn't a fun experience. Most of them I just let be, or take them outside if the kids freak out.

However, I can't approach and catch it, either. That's what significant others are for.

No I scream!! Just kidding, I don't kill it but if it's not an ordinary spider (has stripes or spots), I would smash it flat. Who knows it may be somehow poisonous.
I've seen one in the bathroom, one that is obviously greenish. Though I don't know much about spiders, it doesn't seem to be a common spider.

I can't as I don't have the guts to, I would run like hell from it and ask, plead, beg someone to kill it just so I won't see it. Usually for the really big brown ones I won't enter the room they're in until somone kills them and I actually see their dead body. Of course its a pity afterwards but what am I to do? X(
