IMO it's Forrest Gump and SPR coming in second. Haven't seen Road to Perdition. EDIT: I actually have seen Road to Perdition, just checked it out on IMDB. But I haven't seen the whole thing, just half of it on HBO.

I think Tom Hanks is a very likable guy..but he is always Tom Hanks in every movie I've ever seen. My favorite movie of his is Forrest Gump because I loved the concept of the film..I would have loved that movie no matter who starred in it. I liked Big and Splash and most of the other movies I've seen of his. But he never disappeared into any of the roles and actually became the character he was portraying..at least, not to me! I was always aware that I was watching a Tom Hanks movie.:)

All of them are excellent movies...of the ones you list, I'd go with Forrest Gump as my favorite, followed closely by Philadelphia.
