Absolutely...but I will admit sometimes it's really hard to do that!
-
I couldn't agree more, I will never understand the need some feel to take EVERYTHING so seriously...I imagine it very tiresome.
-
Of course they would..but so many people don't know how to laugh at themselves...they don't seem to have any concept of fun.
-
I have fun all day here on AB. I try to take everything as seriously as I possibly can. Giving serious answers is fun for me. I can't understand why people want it so light in here. I like it dark. If we all lightened up as much as some people want we would all be floating on the ceiling. Then what would we do? Stop laughing, stop it, I say. Oh, now you've gone and done it.
-
Of course, and as it's been said before on this question, you have to learn to laugh at yourself. As soon as you can laugh at yourself than you can laugh at everything else.
-
Yes, that is so true. Many would really fair better if they would just lightened up just a little bit.
-
I think they would definitely have a more enjoyable time :))
-
Some people just like to be tight asses and there is no hope for them. I've had to learn very painfully to lighten up, but sometimes I get the better of me.
-
of course, but there's a dif between lightening up and stop being a tight ass and becoming a dumb ass on the other extreme. but yes lighten up, life is too short to spazz over everything
-
I do agree that there are people who would have a more enjoyable time if they would just lighten up a little.
-
It's hard when you can't see someones body language or hear the tone of their voice so sometimes we take what we read the wrong way. I have done it plenty of times and now I put a smiley face or a hahahaha at the end so they know I was just kidding.
-
I wish they would. Life is to be enjoyed. I feel sorry for them.
-
I am a very serious person most of the time..however, I love whimsy, fantasy and "what if"...I think one can be very serious, but from a positive perspective, and open to new things..one can also be very serious, from a negative perspective, and closed off because of a rigid mindset. I think "lightening" up is the same thing as "opening up"..being aware that your way is not necessarily the "best" way and accepting the fact that we all are different and don't necessarily have to be in agreement all the time about everything to make us or others O.K.! :)
-
Yes. But I also think that some people need to be more serious.
-
I have been going back and forth on this question and I think some people enjoy being a little uptight. I see this a lot because I am a Computer Science Major. It is like if you do loosen up a little you feel uncomfortable and that is not who you are. I don't know if I have answered the question or raised up new questions.
-
No doubt But I do believe that some of those acting so uptight is their way of expressing dry humor.
-
Definitely!

Yes, not enough people understand how to transform stress into vitality ... they allow it to tear themselves down, rather than use it to build themselves up. http://www.healing-tao.com/tao-garden/universal/en/books/ .

Some people, yeah. But, others actually enjoy being uptight. And that creeps me out.
