Why are people sometimes concerned about crossing racial or ethnic lines.. example, whites rapping or blacks performing rock&roll when taking what belongs to someone else and making it your own is what America is all about? Sometimes called "innovation".

Some people (not I) would call it trying to steal or co-opt another group's culture. People get touchy when you try to muck with their cultural identity...

alot of people are worried about social acceptance, and there are few "white rappers" that would make it, because its not socially acceptable in the rapping community.....even though many could make it....lots won't try due to fear of failure.

I actually like it when that happens cause otherwise it seems that they are tryin to limit their culture by not doin other things. I've always loved black guys NOT performing hiphop like lighthouse family or boys2men and white people like eminem doin rap and hiphop. I don't think one should limit himself
