Is it ok to use ceramic hair straightener on greesy hair (like brylcreem applied) would it ruin hair straightener?

No, it wouldn't. Just wipe off any residue on the ceramic plates with a slightly dampened cloth. Make sure they're cool first, and make sure they're not connected to the mains. :)

It should be fine - you're supposed to use some oil or grease to protect your hair before putting that much heat on it.
