What is your favorite metropolitan city in the U.S.? I want to move when i finish college in a year, and am looking for the friendliest, cleanest, great employment, lowest crime area I can find. ) Keep in mind I'm a single mom with a teenage son)

My favorite city is Nashville, TN. It's often called the biggest small town in the world. Even though it's metro, it still has the friendliness and down-to-earth feeling of a small town. I would say that it's a "safe" town as well. Just as with any city of course, there are bad neighborhoods where crime occurs rampantly, but the huge majority of areas feel very secure. The entertainment/music scene is spectacular. I can go out any night of the week and see a live show of any genre I am in the mood for. Another plus (for me, at least), is the beautiful scenery that is located just a short drive out of the city. Other positives: The cost of living is low, the temperature is great year round, great schools, and good economic growth in recent years. I can't imagine calling anywhere else "home"! There are also tons of awesome small communities just outside the city.
