I think this thing so many people have nowadays about models being 'too thin' is in most cases bullsh*t. I agree, some are over thin, but many are thin naturally. A model's job is to sell a product, NOT to persuade people to look like they do, or to act as role models for teenagers. Women should be proud of their weight, and therefore, not complain that models are 'too thin'.

If ever there was a classic case of "Do as I say and not as I do," yes, they say that women should be proud of their weight, but the majority of women gracing the cover and pages of these magazines are probably about a size two. Add to that the emaciated look of most Hollywood celebrities and you don't have a whole lot of healthy sized role models to back up the talk.

Imho. The designers use skinny girls to better draw attention to the clothes. Who looks at some poxy dress when the girl wearing it has a realy hot body.

When I was younger I was a model and stick thin was all the rage. I kept myself as thin as I could and at the time I was very proud of keeping my weight this low. Then as I got older and gave up modeling I gained some weight. it was then that I realized real women have curves and am much happier now......and yes men prefer it that way. Sadly though for a lot of young girls today FAT is still a rude word and most (even though they arent fat) try and stay thinner than they should.

I want to lose some weight, but not because of the models in the magazines. Most of them are way too skinny. I don't think you should be able to see anyones ribs! I just don't feel good. I get winded easily and I have a difficult time finding clothes I like. And I'm not even that much overweight...it's just so unproportioned that it's bothersome.

i used to. but i went to a modeling school, and was with the industry for a while. no body, and i mean nobody really looks like that] i remove, dimples, lines, hickies and everything else in the photoshop. And they change their weight. Most models really look like u and me.. but runway models.. yea they're small.

I don't like those kind of magazines. They always deliver the mixed message. "Be proud of your body. But also be skinny. Underweight is attractive."
