    It might give you a mild sedative effect and help you sleep, but it isn't going to give you any marked high. http://dietary-supplements.info.nih.gov/factsheets/valerian.asp

    Actually, it can get you very very high if you cook the tea properly (I have my medical card and the high was definetly noticable). Here is what I would suggest:

    Brew a whole valerian plant (roots, leaves, stem) with some motherwort, lavender, and cleveland sage (cleveland sage alone can get you high) for 15 minutes bringing it just to a light boil and then drink up. The effects will be in between being drunk and a marijuana high. Enjoy!!!
