The laws state that someone else may not hire you for a job if you are under the age of 16. There is, as far as I know, nothing that says that you cannot hire yourself (i.e. start your own business). This is actually how news papers got around child labor laws with respect to paper carriers. The kids were independent contractors who bought their papers from the the papers and then resold them to the people along their routes. So, there is nothing to stop you from starting your own business except any restrictions your parents might place on you and the money needed to pay the start up costs.
i think so... at least an internet business. the girl who started whateverlife.com did... when she was 14; she's a millionaire now.
I'm am still researching this but from what I have found so far, to be a legitimate business you need a bank account and business license which requires you to be over 18. In addition, contracts and/or binding agreements may be broken by the party that you sign them with and get away with it because the document is meaningless unless someone 18 or older signs it on your behalf. That doesn't mean you can't start an internet business and began receiving income. Also, you can become a partner with someone 18 or older.
