  • Yes & no. I think superstitions only come true if you believe they do. Self-fulfilling prophecy so to speak.
  • One just cracked on me this past weekend... And I have been okay.
  • kicked a football through one when i was younger..but i got no badluck.
  • That could explain the last few years...never considered that.
  • Yep! Bad luck is usual for me...so I didn't notice a difference:P
  • Yes and No.
  • Deliberately broke one into tiny tiny pieces to put in a bottle a few years ago. Haven't noticed anything out of the ordinary. I have heard this comes from way way back in the day when mirrors were super expensive, the things of kings and other rich folks... Imagine you being the servant who breaks it. :P
  • When I was young and wild (36 or so), I was shooting roadsigns with a paintball gun, and shot the passenger side mirror out of my truck. I was trying to lead the sign a little too far, I guess. The only bad luck I have experienced as a result, is the $80 the mirror cost me.
  • Sure I've broken a mirror...but I don't need to do that to get bad luck. I'm a natural bad luck magnet.
  • I haven't personally, but my husband works in the glass field and breaks mirrors all the time. If the old bad luck tale were true, then this man would have a lifetime of bad luck.
  • I broke a mirror moving it out of a house once... I think it was instant-karma more than bad luck, because I cut my hand open picking up one of the pieces.
  • More than one..also a glass portion of a door..didn't notice that my life changed for the worse at all. I would sure like to know where that saying came from..the one that says you will have 7 years' bad luck! :)
  • I've broken plenty of mirrors. Actually, this might explain some things.
  • Why the sad face? Bad luck can be a good thing depending on how you handle it.
  • You realize, of course, that this whole "breaking a mirror is bad luck" superstition came from the Middle Ages when mirrors were rare and expensive, according to historians. People didn't want their servants breaking such expensive grooming aids, so they started such stories, which continue to the present day. So no, I am not superstitious, and have never had "bad luck" after breaking a mirror. In such instances, believers in superstition can always find something to blame on the mirror, especially when they try REALLY hard.
  • Yeah...I didn't notice anything different...
  • I think I've broken a few in my day, but I'm not superstitious, so...
  • Ive broken quite a few but luckily im not superstisious so I think i made my own bad luck :(
  • I broke three mirrors in one day once, never seen a day of bad luck for it! :P
  • yes i have and no it hasnt brought bad luck...

  • Yes. But everybody has bad hair days.
  • When I looked in the mirror I brought it bad luck; it broke.
  • It offered diversity in my cocaine use, My head followed various directions, as shards of glass, would platform my lines, once I was finished I had an overveiw of the puzzle peices and where they belonged
  • I remember moving into my previous house, we had a tall mirror that we just couldn’t decide where to place it, so in the end it was decided we’d put it up into the loft for storage, on putting it into the loft I promptly smashed it, the loft floor wasn’t boarded so I lost my footing on the ceiling joist for the room below, I came through the ceiling and gashed my arm, fortunately for me the mirror stayed in the loft but was a goner, after that we never really had any luck in that house, the neighbours turned out to be a real pain and it also cost us a small fortune in bringing everything up to standard, we had numerous floods through faulty plumbing and even a gas leak, I was electrocuted by a tack which had been place in the wall to hang a picture, this had struck a cable beneath the plaster that no way should have been run through there, the place was a nightmare, we lasted three years, that was enough, that was ten years ago, so all things being equal, we’re three years out of the cycle thank goodness…… you never know, maybe there's something in the old saying??? I like to think it was just a bad decision to buy that house... :-/
  • I have broke a mirror on accident and on purpose, after both times i didn't get anymore bad luck then usual.
  • Yes, I have broken a mirror. No it did not bring bad luck. If I'm not mistaken, the belief that breaking a mirror brings bad luck comes from witnessing the shattering of one's own image; so even if you do believe it, you should be safe if you do not see your own self in the mirror when it shatters.
  • Yes lots of times...but i don't believe in bad luck so no.
  • yes and no
