Very true. Ignorant people only make themselves look more ignorant by thinking that they know everything. As to the recognizing genius part, it's really a gift to spot genius. Most of the time it's really hard to recognize a diamond in the rough.

Nonsense! That is just another group of words put together in such a way that the resulting "meaning" seems so profound when it fact it is ridiculous! "Genius" can be measured and proven by tests..some people appear to be very smart when in fact they are simply "glib". Most of us are average and we can recognize genius. I don't think anyone would dispute the genius of Dr. Stephen Hawking. It certainly does not take "talent" to recognize genius..it takes common sense, and we "mediocre" people certainly have that! :)

The actual gift that is required is WISDOM which involves DISCERNMENT. Brilliant perople can be dumb clucks and make awful judgments, but WISE people can see, 'read' others, study, listen to the heart, observe and make a well-edcated guess. However a diabolically sick-minded liar can deceive everyone from the wise to those in her/his household, class or profession, or co-workers. Some even get elected to high office!

Sounds a trifle pompus and 'other-limiting', no? Everyone can contribute! I mean, I crawled outta the backwards-ass largely non-intellectual, base & concrete world of (fill in the blank) to have become an elegant, sophisticated urbanite 'man-about-town'; an absolute pillar of my community! ;-)
