Partially yes. I knew the destination but I had about 30mins to pack. Didn't know how long I was going for, but I knew where I was going. I got a call saying 'head up to the site' basically, packed the truck, and headed off. It's in the boonies so it's kind of like taking a road trip - except I got paid :) I do want to do one of those spur of the moment trips one day though. Sounds fun.

Been there, done that years ago but I was back home after 1 night and although I can be spontaneous, I need to plan to make the best use of my time and money. I did, however, land at Marco Polo Airport in Venice, Italy a few years ago and since I was 3 days earlier than expected, I simply looked up at the flight schedule board, saw that the 1st flight was to Munich Germany, walked up to Air Dolomite and asked if there was any open seats and voila, 15 minutes later I am sitting in the plane and off to Munich (where I had a wonderfult I might add).
