Has anyone used MAACO to paint and repair body damage, if so would you recommend them? I have heard some pretty bad things about them and a few good things. Your input would be appreciated.

I have a 93 Camry which was repainted by MAACO 2 years ago. It cost about $600, and it was not a color change -- I stayed with the factory green.

It's definitely not a perfect paint job -- but it's adequate. There are a few spots that are chipping. Overall, considering that a top-quality paint job starts around $3,000, I think it was a reasonable deal for a car that's 14 years old and still has a lot of life left in it.

I have used maaco in fort myers and they did a really good job on my 2001 E320 Mercedes. I had them fix a couple of dents I had and then painted the whole car. I had decided to go with the signature paint service which is a base coat/clear coat paint job. I had the car done in March of 2008. They were very professional and they were about 15% less expensive then other shops in town. I would tell you to give them a shot.

I used them many years ago to repaint a car. The issue wasn't whether they were good or not but the fact is that you get what you pay for. They have several levels of quality which they sell. I used thier cheapest level. The car was a different color as I wanted but it clearly wasn't the best job that could be done. I definitely got what I paid for and was happy with the value I got. Dont expect to get an exquisite job for a budget price. If you want quality pay for it. I would use them again.

No, don't go to MACCO. they don't even sad, prime, or prep the surface. Go to an autobody shop. It may cost more, but they do quality work while MACCO doesn't

If you have an older car that you want to just look ok its ok to use a shop like that. Your not going to get the same quality that you would get from a real body shop. Maaco is like a modern day Earl Schieb who use to paint cars for fifty bucks.

I wouldn't take an old lawnmower to maaco to have the base repaired and the whole thing painted.

I took a pick-up to be painted and repair some rusty areas...they used aluminum tape over the rusty holes then covered with bondo and painted. the paint did not match between the cab and the box. It blistered and rusted out around everyplace they covered in less than one month.

I cannot say anything bad enough about their crappy paint and repair processes!

U must take control & in no Uncertain Terms, let them know what U expect! Good Body work means good metal work first so that almost no "Filler" is needed. This means the "Frame Structure" must be Correctly Aligned so the "Body Parts" will fit right. Then before "Priming" it must be thoroughly cleaned. After "Priming" it must be "Sanded" & "Shadow Checked" to see that "Body Work" is ready for "Painting". If Ur keeping "Factory Paint" don't "Deviate" by "Adding Specialties" to the "Formula" as it will show in the "End Result". Remember, even a "Cheap Paint Job" should "Match Color", have "Full Coverage", not exhibit "Orange Peel" or other "Surface Flaws", & make sure they agree in "Writing" or find someone else. A "Good Job" should also get "Good Wages". John

No i never go for this. According to my knowledge you should use liquid latex body paint. It is created with FDA approved ingredients which make it more safe for face painting and body painting.
