If we did, it would be a good idea for the machines to release The Matrix so that everyone dismissed the idea as foolishness and people who accepted it as crazy. Too bad we will probably never find out.

Sometime in the near future VI, computer graphics etc will all be incredible. The games Second Life and the Sims you'll be able to truly live. Give it 10-20 years, but it will happen.

I think we might live in *a* matrix, not in *the* matrix as in the movie. The matrix was all a computer program, with everything that we perceive as having existence based upon a code for that object, but the Bible talks about God having created the world with his Word (see Genesis 1:3,5,etc). He spoke things into existence. It also says that everything is sustained by that Word (see John 1:1-5; Acts 17:28; Hebrews 1:3--"upholding all things by the word of his power").
