It's a race to see who shoots first

Keeping my family and my possesions safe is the only issue for me. And please note the word "family" and it's position in the sentence.

No, though if it were, say, an Eskimo, I might be so taken aback to find an Eskimo in my house, that I might hesitate slightly before blowing him (or her) away.

I don't own a gun ,and would not shoot and intruder if I was unfortunate to own one,so race would not matter.I don't need years in prison for shooting someone anyway.Since when can we shoot an intruder,a thought it was against the law.

Absolutely not but your safety is. To hesitate can cost you your life. Live by a old Turkish proverb(adlibbed), "don't draw the sword unless you intend on drawing blood." A good citizen who is harmed yet hesitates to use their weapons to defend themselves, will have the same weapon used on them.

It depends. If I'm mentally fucked enough to shoot someone who did little more than walk into my house, then 'race' would be the least of my concerns. But, knowing the judicial system here, I might get off with a lighter sentence if the person I shot was ethnic.
