I believe that in 2007 the storms were named after breeds of dogs. "Chestnut" is that early November 2000 storm that dumped record snowfalls on the Buffalo area; the theme for that season was trees. Each year they have a theme to enable archived data to be retrieved more easily. It's not just insects; that was just for one year of archived storms.
