How do you change a camshaft position sensor in a 1997 Ford Taurus GL please help.

Here are the instructions for the 3.0L dual overhead cam or the 3.4L SHO engines. Look at the picture to make sure it looks correct. If it is a different engine there are special tools required and you will need to take it to a dealer. REMOVAL Disconnect battery ground cable. Disconnect engine control sensor wiring from camshaft position sensor. Remove camshaft position sensor retaining bolt and remove camshaft position sensor from engine. INSTALLATION Make sure camshaft position sensor mounting surface is clean and that camshaft position sensor O-ring is in proper location on camshaft position sensor. Position camshaft position sensor onto engine and install retaining bolt. Tighten retaining bolt to 8-12 Nm (71-106 lb-in) . CAUTION: Do not overtighten camshaft position sensor retaining bolt.Damage to camshaft position sensor or engine mounting surface may occur. Connect engine control sensor wiring to camshaft position sensor. Connect battery ground cable.
