I don't know about my cats and dog, but my horse certainly does. When she's turned out and doesn't want to come in she stands behind a tree (not a very big tree either) and when the vet comes she goes and stands in the corner of her stall, and stands very quietly...

I think they do. Sometimes my dog thinks, "If I am more than 20 feet away and I just don't look that way then they can't see me." What I really wonder is if they think we can hear as good as they can.

I don't think so because they can still smell us and that is where they get most of their information. It's nose first, eyes second, ears third. Since they know we're there and often treat us like a member of the pack, they will assume we are just like them and know we see them. They just don't have to acknowledge us if THEY are the pack leaders which is how it is in most homes LOL!
