Is there a way to find GOOD, Contractors that wont screw you over? Does Banks have a list of Reputable *spelling* Contractors?

Have the contractors give you references and completed job sites if possible. Next only pay them a 1/3 at the beginning, 1/3 in the middle of the job and a 1/3 on completion. Talk to people who have hired him at least three. You can also call the BBB, Chamber of Commerce for your location and yes the bank...maybe. Find out where he buys his supplies and perhaps you can get info on him from there.
