Anyone that has someone who depends on them financially should have coverage (or at least not leave anyone holding the bag so to speak).

I have some really useless life insurance. It will pay $1.15 Million to only a spouse, children under 18, or 23 if in college. Never married, never had children. If I die without, no one gets anything. Course I could undoubtedly attract someone with this and get fed poison mushrooms. But frankly wish I could find and befriend and marry someone without telling them. Not like I want to give it to someone interested in only the money. So, no I am not soliciting or accepting offers here. Thought I'd add. There is no redeemable cash value so, I can't even borrow on it. Won't even pay for burial or debts when I die. Only three separate policies for $70K that will pay off. Well add $300K if I get killed driving. Still I have no family or worth while friends so the extra will be going to two charities. None benefiting humans.

I have a policy through work. I am planning to get a "real" one so if anything happens to me my parents or S/O can have some $$ for whatever expenses there are. I'm probably going to wait a while on that, though.

My wife and I have a simple term life insurance policy on each other that we bought at http://www.reliaquote.com but we recently just had a baby. So, that probably needs to be updated (increased) now in light of our new obligations. Scary that time flies so fast!

My family has insurance on my life. I always thought life insurance is a misnomer in that a person never collects on their own- it's not my life insurance it's their income insurance.
