  • JERRY! JERRY! JERRY!
  • Yeah, I had a special cat. His name was Duncan. I had from December 1987 to April of 2001. Duncan, 6/87-4/24/01 When my beloved Matisse was put to sleep after a sudden decline last month, we had the comfort of having his buddy Duncan to help us through the pain. Duncan was obtained in December of 1987 to be a playmate for Matisse. When we entered the shelter in Pomona, NY on December 5, 1987 we were captivated by a six month old orange tabby cat who's outstretched front legs through the cage and plaintive cries demanded our attention. For the past 13 1/2 years Duncan was the most loyal, devoted and loving companion that we or Matisse could have ever wanted. Duncan had an incredible nurturing spirit and he always comforted us when we were sick or down. It was evident that something became terribly wrong with him recently. It was determined the he had suffered some kind of stroke and that he was partially blind. His limbs were so weak that they would tremble. It broke our hearts to put him to sleep today but it was the kindest thing we could do for our sweet friend. We were able to bury him and say goodbye to a wonderful pet that we were so blessed to have had in our lives.
  • Yes I had a cat that I had a very close bond with.
  • Lilly (RIP) She was the sweetest dog I've ever known. I took her from the pound where they said she was neglected and abused. She was so scared when I brought her home; curled up in the corners of my place. As time passed, she began to trust me and feel more secure. Eventually she played with me and let me wrestle her. You can just feel the appreciation and love coming from her. She was truly a part of my life. I have a picture of her trying to nurse a kitten. I'll post it another time (remind me). Anyway, she died when I was on a job in Guam. Spider bite... :(
  • I had the privledge of sharing my life for 12 years with a wonderful little chihuahua. I got him at 8 weeks after begging my then husband everyday for 6 months for a chihuahua. When he finally agreed we went to the breeders house and I picked the one that wanted nothing to do with any of us. He was so tiny. So full of himself. He became so confident and such the protector. he rode in the car on my shoulders and warned me anytime someone dared come near. He chased big dogs away from his yard. He only grew to weigh 5 pounds. My new husband got a rescue english bulldog, who was way too rough for my chihuahua who at the time was 7-8 years old. We placed him with a retired woman. She accidently ran him over with her electric wheelchair. She couldn't afford to fix him. We did. Amputated his leg half his tail, nursed him back to health. Got 4 more years of love and loyality before he finally passed away. He is buried in my yard in a special box. With a special placque. He has a special wall in my house just for memories of him.
  • Thanks to all who answer! Here is a photo of my faithful companion, Cotton.
  • My cat codi is in australia haven't seen her in a year but i think she's happy!!! - must hate me now though :-(
  • Yes, my avatar is of my special girl Lacy. She passed away in my arms in May of 2007 and I miss her so much. She was a very special girl, and had a great sense of humor. We trained together and got her companion dog title in the first three tries. I have two other dogs, but there is only one Lacy per lifetime, I fear.
  • My cat, Plato, is my best friend. He's the most personable cat I've ever seen. Last year, I went out to my car one night when it was raining, leaving the back door open so I could run right back in. I heard noise and turned around to see this wet bundle of cat fur, standing in the rain, meowing, "Jodie! What are you doing out here? Come back inside, please!!" It's a rare cat who'll brave a downpour to rescue his human. Be sure to click on the photos for the "big picture"!
  • Yes I adored both of my German Shepherds , it was like losing my family when they died.
  • My youngest cat, Shaggy. He meows to me like he's talking to me, he waits for me at the door when I get home from work, he sleeps in my lap often, he sometimes comes right up to my face to check me (looks almost like he's kissing me), he knows when it's time for me to go to bed and he makes me laugh.
