The Shawshank Redemption is regarded as one of the best films of all time in most surveys. Why is the DVD of the film always so cheap?

They wanted easy to afford so everyone from any class of people would be able to enjoy the movie. Think about it it is a single disc DVD. That movie VS. a new release like I am legend that will sell for 29 dollars were both written on a DVD that cost 7 cents when bought in bulk.

Don't complain! They've already sucked us dry of money by marketing the film in as many different ways they can. 1. Theatrical release 2. Pay-per-view 3. Cable/Satellite 4. DVD/Videotape (Theatrical Version) 5. DVD -Unrated Version 6. DVD -Director's cut 7. DVD -Aniversary Edition 8. Blueray/HiDef 9. Probably other ways I know nothing about. Heck, the way I figure it, they owe ME money!
